Many national and regional store chains will be open for regular hours on Labor Day this year
In 1894, President Grover Cleveland signed into law the annual observance on the first Monday in September to recognize the achievements of American workers.
Since it’s a federal holiday, banks and most government offices and agencies, including the U.S. Postal Service, will not be open that day.
However, plenty of stores will be open for last-minute shopping before Labor Day celebrations. Make sure to check the store's working hours before visiting, as these may be limited on the holiday.
